After ten years of international aid work, a nurse questions her practice: how to provide support without creating vulnerability? On the isolated island of Motalava, in northern Vanuatu, she reconnects with a community that has traditionally welcomed her, a community now facing healthcare shortages and natural disasters. Alongside George, a local activist committed to prevention and community resilience, the film explores a different approach to humanitarian aid: one rooted in local dynamics, driven by the transmission of knowledge and respect for existing balances. The Other Shore tells the story of a shift in perspective... a path where aid strengthens what already exists.

Tents, tarpaulins, a few belongings hastily piled up… lives hanging in the balance. In the heart of the Cambodian displaced persons camps, born of an armed conflict along the Thai-Cambodian border, the violence of displacement exists alongside spontaneous and vital bursts of human solidarity. Marin ventures into the camps. A survivor of the Khmer Rouge era, he connects the exiles of yesterday with those of today. Through him emerge human voices, too often stifled by the clamor of conflict. An immersive narrative devoid of political discourse, centered on the human experience… that explores the paradoxes of conflict: violence and solidarity, loss and legacy, waiting and momentum… and reveals what endures when everything else crumbles.

INDIGENOUS RANGERS (2023)

Report & exhibition : Coline Stagnitto Woleg

Production : Australian Consulate General

Distribution : Tjibaou Cultural Center

Why invite Aboriginal rangers from Australia to travel across New Caledonia, meet the Kanak clans, visit sacred sites, and share their practices and stories? Because on both sides of the Coral Sea, Indigenous peoples forge ancient connections between land, memory, and life. Because by sharing knowledge, perspectives, and actions… we give rise to new ways of caring for the world. Because it is often there, under a tree, by a river, or with feet in the sand… that the simplest (and most essential) truths are exchanged.
