Episode 1 | Khmer Sak Yant (2025)
Kru Vorng Rith is one of the last great Sak Yant masters in Cambodia. Through this sacred art - where spirituality, sacred geometry, martial arts, and traditional medicine intertwine - he embodies a living, fragile, and invaluable memory. Nineteen young disciples, known as “Ajaas,” have come to learn from him. Together, they draw, study, and pass on this ancient knowledge, refusing to let it fade into silence. This episode was filmed with deep respect for the words and wisdom shared - between ancestral gestures and forward-looking perspectives. Human Tales is a documentary series dedicated to human stories, cultural legacies, and voices we don’t always hear. To honor, understand and preserve.

Made in the midst of unrest in New Caledonia, Echoes from Lifou to Brest takes a sensitive look at mutual recognition and the importance of art as a vector of identity and rapprochement. Between music and transmission, it sketches a space where voices meet, where diversity becomes a richness and where artistic expression builds bridges between peoples.

IDIGENOUS RANGERS, learning from the root (2023)
Reporting
Director: Human Tales - Coline Stagnitto Photo & Film
Production: Consulate General of Australia in NC
Original version: French
Broadcast: Tjibaou Cultural Center (Noumea)
" Why invite Aboriginal rangers from Australia, have them travel around New Caledonia, link customs and meetings, visit natural sites, present their work to the general public? Because we are convinced that these exchanges can nourish, on both sides of the Coral Sea, our reflections on environmental management. Because the first peoples share this very close link between geography, biodiversity, mythological stories, genealogies and traditional knowledge. Because it is thanks to this type of exchange, under the trees, feet in the sand or sitting on the edge of a river that we hope to contribute, modestly, to mutual knowledge between Caledonians and Australians."
